Sharing all the information regarding the claim is the first step, and it’s arguably the most crucial. We’ll break this part down:

1) Control and mitigate the initial damage. Prevent more damage from happening (if it’s safe to do so) and document the damage you see via photos or videos. Also, keeping receipts for items is useful, especially if you believe they may be part of the loss.

2) Report the claim. You can give us a call, send an email directly, or use our online portal. Another way is to relay your claim information to your broker, and they can reach out to the Sandbox team on your behalf. Some tips during the initial notice process are:

  • Provide photographs. They’re a great way to give our team a sense of the damage.
  • Create a list of what damages have occurred because it helps us know where to focus first.
  • Let us know if a contractor has been notified or if temporary repairs are being completed. This is appreciated by our team and gives us oversight of the claim!

After receiving the claim, we’ll give you a call within 48 hours. Once we have all the necessary information, our team will compare your details of the loss with the policy in place. Within the scope of the policy coverages available, we strive to restore our insureds to their pre-loss condition.
