As our Product Development Analyst, you’ll be the go-to expert for supporting the research, development, and enhancement of our insurance products. You’ll partner with the Manager, Product Development and teams across the organization to maintain and refine policy wordings, analyze competitors, develop pricing strategies, and establish risk selection criteria. Your work will directly support innovation, underwriting profitability, and the continued growth of Sandbox.

DIVE IN AND MAKE A SPLASH EVERY DAY BY:

  • Developing, maintaining, and refining policy wordings, product documents, application forms, endorsements, and key feature documents, while ensuring accurate version control
  • Conducting industry research, analyzing competitor products and wording changes, and preparing detailed reports
  • Supporting the establishment of product pricing strategies and risk selection criteria
  • Performing analysis of existing products to identify enhancement opportunities and recommending new products or innovations
  • Communicating product changes, providing guidance, and assisting with product-related training across the organization
  • Answering inquiries from brokers, insureds, and internal departments regarding product details
  • Collaborating with underwriting and other teams to support product development initiatives
  • Performing related duties as required

WHAT YOU BRING TO SANDBOX:

  • Education & Credentials: Completion of Grade 12 is required. A CIP designation (or at least eight Insurance Institute of Canada courses) with a strong commitment to completing the designation within two years is expected. Preference will be given to candidates who already hold a CIP.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum four (4) years of experience in the property & casualty insurance industry (or equivalent), including at least two (2) years in a product development role or similar
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of general liability and property lines across commercial, farm, habitational, and auto, with expertise in policy wording interpretation and application
  • Market Awareness: Solid understanding of the competitive insurance landscape with the ability to conduct thorough research and analysis
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex product concepts
  • Innovative Mindset: Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and sound decision-making abilities
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams
  • Customer Focus: Ability to interact with brokers, clients, and the public in a professional, courteous, and positive manner
  • Culture Add: Leads by example and contributes to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture
